The EPDs, which in the case of Roto were created by ift Rosenheim and verified by an independent body, include, for example, information on the CO2 footprint of the roof windows - from the raw materials to production and recycling over the entire life cycle. They must be renewed every five years.
The values collected for the Roto Designo R6 pivoting window, the Roto Designo R8 top-hung pivoting window and the RotoQ pivoting window Q4 underline numerous product benefits. For example, Roto timber roof windows have a particularly low environmental impact due to sustainable forestry. In addition, the PVC-U versions can be easily separated into individual materials and are therefore very easy to recycle.
The EPDs for the tested Roto roof windows can be downloaded here. The data records can also be accessed on ÖKOBAUDAT, the platform of the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB).
